PM Law Group is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Private Client to take a strategic lead in one of our key practice areas. This is an exciting opportunity to guide the direction of our Private Client services, manage a talented team, and help shape the department for long-term success.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic oversight, set clear objectives for growth, and ensure the delivery of exceptional client service. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll have the autonomy to influence how the department evolves, while being supported by a collaborative and professional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated Private Client team, fostering collaboration and service excellence.
  • Manage a complex caseload including Wills, Probate, Trusts, LPAs, Inheritance Tax planning, and Court of Protection matters.
  • Act as the senior technical lead for high-value and challenging cases.
  • Develop and deliver a departmental growth strategy aligned with PM Law’s objectives.
  • Build strong client relationships and expand professional networks to drive revenue.
  • Oversee compliance, quality assurance, and optimise case management systems.
  • Monitor performance metrics including fee income, budgets, and KPIs.
  • Play an active role in recruitment, training, and succession planning.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a confident, commercially minded Private Client professional with:

  • 10+ years PQE in Private Client work (Solicitor status essential; STEP or SFE membership preferred).
  • Proven experience managing or leading a Private Client team.
  • Strong technical expertise across Wills, Trusts, Probate, IHT planning, LPAs, and CoP.
  • Commercial awareness and a track record of driving growth and profitability.
  • A natural leadership style, motivating, mentoring, and inspiring others.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to implement systems that enhance service delivery.
